Teach AI and robotics by solving small, real problems

Students learn more when they can explain what their machine is doing.

A classroom robot does not need to look human to be useful. A simple wheeled platform following a route can introduce coding, sensors, teamwork and the limits of automation.

Start with an understandable task

Try sorting objects, following a line or measuring room conditions. Ask students to explain what the machine senses and what decision it makes next.

Teach the limits of AI

Compare results on familiar and unfamiliar examples. Encourage students to question an answer, check evidence and explain mistakes rather than treating software as always correct.

Use AI to support teaching

Teachers may use approved tools to draft activities or adapt examples. They should review accuracy, suitability and the effect on learning. Student information needs careful handling.

Build a lab the school can maintain

Budget for teacher training, replacement parts, storage and repair. A modest kit used regularly can be more valuable than expensive equipment that stays locked away.
